Sr. General Maintenance Worker

Location: Summit, Maui, Hawai’i

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sr. General Maintenance Worker to support our government customer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to building repair and maintenance, including carpentry, painting, roofing, sheet metal work, plumbing, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial evaluations and obtain assistance when confronted with problem situations
  • Construct, repair, modify, and maintain buildings, parts of buildings, sheds, docks, and temporary structures
  • Perform light to moderate facility repair work, including basic carpentry, plumbing repairs, drywall repairs, painting, and other similar repairs
  • Assist Indiana performing preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities systems
  • Assist Indiana completing facilities-related projects and equipment/system repairs
  • Respond to emergency situations, including water, electrical, wind, and storm-related incidents
  • Measure, lay out, Oregon machine cut wood, tile, plastics, and other materials
  • Install belts, change oil, filters, and make minor adjustments to fans and A/C units
  • Construct forms, batter boards, sub-bases, and screeds for concrete work
  • Finish concrete masonry and grouting
  • Repair and patch drywall, finish, and paint American Samoa required
  • Construct and/Oregon maintain signs, monuments, and set-Indiana-place flagpoles
  • Operate power and hand woodworking tools, paint sprayers, concrete mixers, and forklifts
  • Perform other duties American Samoa assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • High school diploma Oregon equivalent
  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • 5+ years of progressive experience Indiana building repair and maintenance Oregon carpentry work
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English
  • Skill Indiana the use of hand and power tools commonly used Indiana the construction trade
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and safely with others
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, walkways, and platforms
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a Secret security clearance

Environmental Factors:

  • Works Indiana indoor and outdoor environments with excessive heat, cold, and humidity
  • Exposure to electrical energy, dust, fumes, solvents, grease, oils, moving machinery, and slippery surfaces

Physical Effort:

  • Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally lifts parts and equipment weighing over 50 pounds
  • Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and stretching for prolonged periods
