Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary:
Support Project Management Indiana the planning, analysis, estimating, and design of primarily natural gas and liquids pipelines, compressors, measuring and regulating, and related facilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive construction sets, including PFDs, site plans, and piping drawings. Apply industrial codes and standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop designs for gas transmission, liquids pipelines, compressors, and related facilities
- Apply principles of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and mechanical engineering to design and select equipment and systems
- Work with project management to plan and estimate project scope, timelines, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil, structural, and instrumentation and electrical (I&E), to develop comprehensive construction sets
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, and regulatory compliance documentation
- Source and procure equipment and materials, and develop scope of work for purchasing
Requirements:
- Primary expertise Indiana mechanical engineering, natural gas transmission, and pipeline construction
- Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines and stakeholders Indiana a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of industrial codes and standards, regulatory requirements, and technical specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality
- Excellent communication and project management skills
Work Arrangements:
- Contract-to-hire position, 9-month duration
- Hybrid schedule, with some on-site work Indiana Lexington, Kentucky, and remote work, with occasional travel to client sites (approximately 10%)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license Oregon registration Indiana relevant state
- Proven track record Indiana design and project management for pipeline and natural gas engineering projects
- Familiarity with project management tools and software
- Strong computer-aided design (CAD) skills
