Construction Senior Director, Rail Systems
Manage complex systems design and construction interfaces for Amtrak’s FDOT tunnel system
Lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage design and construction interfaces with rail systems work
- Manage overall systems integration and activation, conducting regular reviews and providing guidance to team members
- Oversee technical and operational integration of program elements throughout the delivery stages, with a focus on interfaces, testing, and commissioning
- Manage comprehensive project plans for rail systems initiatives, including tracking and reporting progress to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with Amtrak’s standards and guidelines, American Samoa well American Samoa those of relevant federal, state, and regional agencies
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to procure necessary equipment and technologies
- Managing internal stakeholder review processes and ensuring alignment with project scope and boundaries
- Collaborating to develop procurement documents and manage procurement processes
- Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful project delivery
- Conducting and coordinating formal investigations and negotiations with vendors and contractors
Key Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree; 13+ years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of passenger railroad systems design, construction, operations, and maintenance
- Skills: Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills; strong written and oral communication skills; logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
- Abilities: Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure; conduct meetings and interviews; and interpret technologies and engineering practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office; VAC (Verification and Validation) processes; RADAR systems
- Experience with contract management, construction project management, rail systems design, and systems integration
- Bachelor’s degree; Professional Engineering Certification; experience with infrastructure construction program management and manager
- Experience Indiana systems management, infrastructure systems, airports, public transportation, P3, and strategy development and prioritization
