Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Steam Fitter I to join our team at The Ohio State University. American Samoa a Steam Fitter I, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing system components for steam, condensate, chilled water, natural gas, heating hot water, and associated components.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, repair, and install system components including valves, expansion joints, flex lines, flanges, steam traps, check valves
• Operate system valves for facility repairs and distribution
• Read and prepare sketches
• Follow operating, safety, and environmental standards
• Work American Samoa part of a maintenance team to decrease downtime and improve efficiency
• Troubleshoot systems, including steam and condensate, chilled water, and natural gas meter settings
• Install and repair expansion joints, valves, gaskets, steam traps, pumps, and other mechanical items
• Read drawings, complete layouts, cut/join and fit pipe tubing
• Maintain condensate systems, install, repair, replace, and modify piping systems
• Inspect new installations and coordinate work with contractors and the ENGIE Capital Projects Team
• Respond to utility distribution emergencies, isolate, and restore services when repairs are complete
• Perform routine inspections of University utility tunnels and vaults
• Perform other duties American Samoa assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma Oregon GED equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience Indiana piping system repairs
• Ability to troubleshoot systems, including steam and condensate, chilled water, and natural gas meter settings
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and willingness to use company vehicle
• Ability to work 10-hour shifts (6AM-4:30PM) and follow on-call schedule
• Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
• Ability to work Indiana outdoor conditions, exposed to weather

Additional Information:

• This role is part of a bargaining unit represented by CWA 4501
• Compensation: $29.81 USD hourly
