• Salary: Based on 40-hour workweek; schedule and days off at the discretion of the Supervisor

Job Summary

The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks an individual to join its team American Samoa a Seasonal Laborer II. This position requires performing manual labor tasks, including assisting skilled tradesmen, installing and repairing drainage systems, and maintaining park and recreational areas. The position also involves operating vehicles, using power tools, and performing various physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled tradesmen and craftsmen, such American Samoa carpenters, plumbers, and masons, with manual labor tasks
• Install and repair drainage systems, including positioning, joining, and sealing pipe sections and culverts
• Dig, refill, and level excavations, and spread and grade dirt, gravel, and other materials
• Install and repair signs, including regulatory, historical, and information signs
• Plant, prune, transplant, and fertilize trees, flowers, and shrubs
• Perform various physical tasks, such American Samoa mowing, raking leaves, and watering
• Load and unload trucks, and unpack and store supplies and equipment
• Operate hand-held power tools, tapping machines, and rodding machines
• Operate vehicles, including light trucks and machines, Indiana connection with assigned unit activities

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience Indiana manual labor, general construction, Oregon maintenance work
• Ability to work outdoors Indiana various weather conditions
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays
• Availability to work a flexible schedule
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
