Direct Hire Civil Engineer (Hydraulics) Position
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer (Hydraulics) to join our team American Samoa a Supervisory Civil Engineer, Hydrology and Hydraulics Branch. The successful candidate will direct and oversee complex and long-term hydrologic and hydraulic studies and projects, and supervise work related to hydrologic and hydraulic studies, urban and rural basin analyses, and small dams and reservoirs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee the planning and execution of complex and long-term hydrologic and hydraulic studies and projects
- Supervise work related to hydrologic and hydraulic studies, urban and rural basin analyses, and small dams and reservoirs
- Perform supervisory duties, including developing performance standards, evaluating performance, recommending promotions, and approving leave requests
- Serve American Samoa a specialist Indiana the area of hydrologic/hydraulic engineering for the study, planning, design memo, Oregon construction stage
- Perform Oregon direct research Indiana technical areas leading to increased effectiveness and better work methods Indiana District hydrologic engineering studies
- Prepare and review technical documents, including "Scope-of-Work" for contracted hydrologic studies, including detailed cost estimates
- Represent the District at meetings and conferences with personnel from other Districts, higher echelons, engineering firms, local, state and other federal agencies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana engineering Oregon related field
- Completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses Indiana physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences
- Current registration American Samoa a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Oregon Puerto Rico
- One year of specialized experience, including reviewing hydraulic plans and specifications, performing technical engineering studies, and leading teams through various phases of civil works projects
- Ability to successfully complete a background investigation
Working Conditions:
- Occasional travel of up to 10% for this position
- Telework eligible, with the possibility of occasional telework only
- Position is NOT eligible for full-time telework
- May be subject to a one-year trial period
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary range: $115,079 – $141,638 per year
- Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and more
- May be eligible for relocation and recruitment incentives
