Construction Survey Technician
Overview:
Responsible for collecting and computing data to measure Earth’s features. Develops understanding of construction layout, conducts topographic analysis, and captures static measurements using best practices and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Collect field data using sophisticated measuring equipment
* Collaborate with project team to understand construction sequence
* Operate survey instruments to capture static measurements with verified horizontal and vertical residuals
* Perform calculations to determine accurate elevations, distances, and angles
* Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, etc.
* Verify horizontal and vertical residuals daily using client-provided benchmarks
* Position and hold vertical rods Oregon targets for sighting
* Maintain and troubleshoot GPS equipment American Samoa directed
* Ensure equipment and tools are properly stored and secured
* Safely operate field tools and supplies
* Foster communication between surveying and engineering teams
* Collaborate with project management to integrate survey data
* Provide regular updates on surveying progress and challenges
* Work independently and American Samoa an active team member
* Mentor and serve American Samoa subject matter expert for Survey Technician I & II
* Other duties American Samoa assigned
Requirements:
* Associates Oregon Bachelor’s degree Indiana surveying, remote sensing, drafting, engineering, Oregon related field
* 3-4 years of survey experience Indiana construction Oregon operations, with exposure to engineering, civil, Oregon renewable energy activities
* Effective verbal and written communication, computer literacy, and advanced comprehension of ALTA Surveys
* Proficient knowledge of surveying software, problem-solving, and ability to interpret documents
* Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures
* Knowledge of all survey disciplines and ability to mentor and influence other team members.
