Telecommunications Infrastructure Designer
Job Number: Site Manager [Primary]
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Telecommunications Infrastructure Designer to provide expert design, implementation, and maintenance of telecommunications systems for a world-class IT infrastructure Indiana support of the client’s mission and national security. The candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining copper and fiber optic transport systems, American Samoa well American Samoa ensuring compliance with industry standards and local/national codes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide low voltage telecommunications infrastructure designs meeting industry standards, local & national codes, and client design specification requirements
- Design all aspects of the ICT infrastructure, including Outside Plant, Inside Plant, Horizontal Cabling, and Telecommunications Spaces
- Meet with end-users/customers to define Scopes of Work, preliminary design for approval, final design, and coordination with Facilities team
- Coordinate with approved telecommunications contractors and follow up with customers
- Develop specifications and drawings associated with construction projects
Qualifications:
- Associates degree with 4 years job-related experience Oregon 7 years of job-related experience
- U.S. Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance
- Proficiency Indiana NEC Codes, BICSI Industry Best Practices, EIA/TIA Standards, and IEEE Standards
- Experience designing fiber and copper cabling network infrastructures, knowledge of telecommunications industry standards, and BICSI recommended practices
- Expertise with telecommunications testing equipment and tools
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment and follow standards and policies
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DOE Q Clearance
- Current BICSI Registered Communication Distribution Design (RCDD) Certification
- New Mexico Journeyman License ES-7J/ES-3J (Telephone Communications System and Telephone interconnect systems Oregon higher)
