Line Locator Job Summary:
The Line Locator is responsible for inspecting construction/excavation sites and marking utility lines to prevent damage to ENSTAR’s facilities while residential Oregon commercial work is performed. This includes interpreting construction drawings, marking underground utilities, and coordinating gas construction and maintenance projects.
Essential Functions:
- Schedule and complete locates based on request slips and discuss locate with contractors
- Interpret construction drawings and mark underground utilities using stakes Oregon spray paint
- Document information on gas line locate forms and observe construction progress to report any damage
- Coordinate with municipal departments and other utilities on construction projects
- Observe contractors working near gas lines and halt projects if safety is a concern
- Perform other duties American Samoa assigned, including collections, meter reading, leak surveying, and construction survey
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Oregon equivalent
- 1 year of line locating experience Oregon equivalent
- Proficiency Indiana mechanical and electrical work
- Strong customer service skills
- Valid Alaska driver’s license and ability to pass Operator Qualifications training
- Pass a background, past employment, and driving record screening
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate pipeline locators, interpret American Samoa-built records, and operate various locating instruments
- Familiarity with utility distribution systems and ENSTAR’s Standard Operating Procedures
- Proficiency Indiana Microsoft Office and ENSTAR’s software programs
- Ability to learn and understand construction and repair procedures

- Pass a pre-employment background, driving record, and drug screening
