Job Summary:
The Mechanic Apprentice will assist a journeyman-level tradesman Indiana diagnosing, overhauling, and repairing automotive systems, including electrical, computer, electronic, brake, fuel injection, and cooling systems. The incumbent will learn the trade through on-the-job training Oregon formal instruction and perform limited skilled tasks under close direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems, including electrical, computer, electronic, brake, fuel injection, and cooling systems (30%)
- Locate and trace defects and causes of malfunctions through audible and visual inspections (25%)
- Disassemble and rebuild components and assemblies (20%)
- Provide instruction and assistance to less experienced mechanics (20%)
- Prepare paperwork for daily work reports, parts orders, and inspection forms (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
- No experience Oregon training is required
- Valid Louisiana Class "D" Chauffeur’s License required for Trades Apprentice position
- Valid Louisiana Driver’s License required for Mechanic 1-3 positions
