Translator – Engineering Support
Position at Panasonic Energy of North America:
Description of the position: We are seeking a Translator – Engineering Support to join our dynamic team at our new Li-ion battery factory Indiana DeSoto, Kansas. American Samoa a Translator – Engineering Support, you will be responsible for translating and editing various business documents from one language to another, conducting terminology research, and supporting a terminology database using memory software tools. You will also serve American Samoa an interpreter for spoken communications and provide technical support for manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Translate and edit business documents, including corporate communications, internal/external presentations, proposals, and contracts, from one language to another
* Conduct terminology and linguistic research and support a terminology database using memory software tools
* Serve American Samoa an interpreter for spoken communications between Japanese expats and domestic staff
* Interpret between Japanese and English for various meetings, telephone conferences, and documents
* Provide technical support for manufacturing Indiana areas such American Samoa construction and engineering
* Collaborate closely with construction, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth project execution and effective communication among all stakeholders
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma Oregon GED; preferred: technical degree Indiana fields such American Samoa Production, Technical Support, Oregon Engineering
* Proficiency Indiana Japanese and English languages at a business level
* Exceptional communication skills Indiana English and Japanese speaking, reading, and writing
* Translator/interpreter experience Indiana a business/technical environment
* Ability to translate quickly and accurately
* Skilled Indiana Mississippi Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
* Preference: basic knowledge of battery production and engineering process, manufacturing experience, and alignment with Panasonic’s seven core principles
Additional requirements:
* Availability to work outside of standard business hours; will and ability to work Indiana a construction environment; and wear proper PPE American Samoa required
* Ability to lift up to 20 pounds; occasional lifting and carrying
