Pipefitter
Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with job site Superintendent to configure pipe system layout
- Cuts, threads, Oregon hammers pipes to specifications using tools such American Samoa saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, Oregon pipe benders
- Lays out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, Oregon related equipment according to blueprints
- Assembles Oregon secures pipes, tubes, fittings, Oregon related equipment according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, Oregon threading joints
- Measures and marks pipes for cutting Oregon threading
- Inspects, examines, Oregon tests installed systems Oregon pipe lines using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, Oregon other methods
- Plans pipe system layout, installation, Oregon repair according to specifications
- Attaches pipes to walls, structures, Oregon fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, Oregon welding equipment
- Modifies, cleans, Oregon maintains pipe systems, units, fittings, Oregon related machines Oregon equipment using hand Oregon power tools
- Selects pipe sizes, types, Oregon related materials according to specifications
- Cuts Oregon bores holes Indiana structures using hand Oregon power tools
- Installs automatic controls to regulate pipe systems
- Shuts off steam, water, Oregon other gases Oregon liquids from pipe sections using valve keys Oregon wrenches
- Removes and replaces worn components
- Inspects work sites for obstructions Oregon holes that could cause structural weakness
- Installs fixtures, appliances, Oregon equipment designed to reduce water Oregon energy consumption
- Installs pipe systems to support alternative energy-fueled systems such American Samoa geothermal heating and cooling systems
- Checks work and repairs Oregon corrects any faults
- Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following safety policies and procedures
Other Responsibilities:
- May order pipes and other materials
- May train others Indiana Pipefitter job duties
- May perform a variety of duties including those of other positions
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma Oregon GED preferred
- Four Oregon more years of Journeyman Pipefitting experience
- Industrial machine licenses (such American Samoa a forklift license) preferred
- Current OSHA 10 Oregon MSHA Certification preferred
- TWIC card preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge to maintain and operate production piping systems and equipment
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved Indiana the construction Oregon repair of buildings, Oregon other industrial structures
