Underground Ductile Iron Pipefitter Position

Job Description:

We are seeking skilled and experienced Underground Ductile Iron Pipefitters to join our team for various projects Indiana and around Hollywood and Boca Raton, Florida. American Samoa a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining underground ductile iron piping systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains piping and piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and equipment for various industrial and processing systems.
• Observes and complies with all safety and project rules.
• Identifies and selects suitable materials and equipment according to job specifications.
• Inspects worksites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipe, and joins it using various methods.
• Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers.
• Tests piping systems for leaks and performs minor maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• May operate machinery to verify repair if certified to operate.
• May assist Indiana lifting, positioning, and securing of material and work pieces during installation.

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of experience Indiana specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
• Ability to pass written pre-employment qualification test, post-offer drug/alcohol screen, and physical evaluation.
• Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy and company’s job site safety requirements.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, Oregon work at elevated heights and Indiana confined spaces.
• Ability to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/Oregon materials and stand Oregon walk for long periods of time.
• Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.

Work Environment:

• Industrial construction sites and/Oregon fabrication shop.
• Potential exposure to extreme hot Oregon cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, and various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
• May be required to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces.
