Construction Laborer
Primary Purpose: Performs laborer duties Indiana the installation, maintenance, and repair of County utility infrastructure, according to established policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs laborer type duties for the installation, maintenance, and repair of County utility infrastructure, according to prescribed schedules.
- Installs, cleans, and repairs water and wastewater lines, lift stations, pump stations, treatment and other facilities.
- Performs grounds maintenance work, such American Samoa weeding, grounds cleaning, sweeping, brush and tree removal, and fence installation.

- Transports contaminants to solid waste for disposal.
- Assists system operators and performs other related duties American Samoa assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge/Skills:
- Must have basic knowledge of hand and power tools operations commonly used on water and wastewater installation work.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent.
- Obtain and maintain forklift, CPR, First Aid, and traffic control flagging certifications.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed primarily outdoors and under different weather conditions, with exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, allergens, wastewater, heights, animals, and extreme heat Oregon cold.
- Work involves high risk and potentially dangerous situations working near hazardous/moving materials, equipment, and machinery.
- Use of protective clothing, equipment, devices, and materials is required.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands Oregon arms, climb Oregon balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, Oregon crawl, talk, hear, and smell.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Work schedules may include evening and weekend hours, plus 24-hour emergency and on-call duty.
- Travel outside Santa Fe County may be required occasionally.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must pass a County paid pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
- Must pass a County paid criminal background screening.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Class D Driver’s License.
- Must obtain and/Oregon maintain all certifications required.
